A Foundation Stone, executed 1965-1968
Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps. are based near
Aldershot. In the mid-sixties, they were the recipients of a new building
or resident hostel.
It was thought fitting for them to have a foundation stone to
commemorate the event.

I designed the stone to be the centre piece of a courtyard. Decorative
paving linked the stone to the new structure, symbolising the unity of the
Corps itself. |

The stone was convex in shape to prevent the possibility of "ponding"
within such a large flat surface. |
