Recreational Sculpture

The London County Council could be a surprise packet in themselves; for instance, the illustrations on the left describe an enormous tree trunk sent to me one very wet Thursday.

The instruction was "please carve this" - it became a large totem pole, having chains attached to it. Children would harness themselves to this and hurl themselves into the maelstrom of The Elephant and Castle. It would not be countenanced now under EU rules.
